In 2021, Youghal Blue & Green Network commissioned an Energy Audit for Youghal, supported by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and PlanEnergy. As the Sustainable |Energy Community Group (SEC) for this area, the Network acknowledged the need for a cohesive understanding of energy use in the region. This plan audits the energy use of the town and also of three local organisations, and sets out goals for delivering on climate change initiatives.
The Energy Audit was launched on 9th November 2022 as part of EirGrid’s Citizen Energy Roadshow at Pobalscoil Trionoide, Youghal.
