October is National Reuse Month, and to celebrate it, Youghal Blue & Green Community Network is hosting a family festival to share some ideas with you! The Zero Waste Festival will be a fun day for all at Youghal GAA on Saturday October 1st from 12 – 4pm. This event is a partnership between the Blue & Green Network, VOICE Ireland and Youghal GAA. The idea behind the festival is to have fun and to watch demonstrations, look at stalls and get information on ways to reuse and recycle – including making new things from old – and how to reduce our waste, making savings for ourselves and for the planet.

The ‘Return for Change’ trailer will be visiting the site, to illustrate how recycling can bring back cash – these trailers will become active across the country next year. Demonstrations from Oonagh Poynton of Rhincrew Cookery School, Bike Wizard Ulick O’Connor and VOICE Ireland will run alongside stalls on growing your own vegetables in boxes and small gardens from East Cork Catering; a clothes swap from Seapink Vintage where you can bring something and take something different away, kitchen caddies for composting, a ceramics workshop for all ages with artist Martha Cashman and children’s games from Cork Sports Partnership. There truly is something for everyone on the day!

The Zero Waste Festival 2022 is supported by SECAD, Cork County Council Environmental Department, Youghal Residents Network, Cumann na Daoine, Youghal GAA and VOICE Ireland.
