Overview
On November 14th, 2024, the Youghal Blue & Green Community Network hosted an open town hall meeting to discuss the community’s needs and responses to potential future flood events. The event brought together approximately 55 attendees, offering an opportunity to learn, engage, and plan for the challenges ahead.
Highlights of the Evening
- Networking & Art Display: Attendees arrived to find a welcoming networking session, accompanied by a Creative Ireland Pathways Project Youghal art display.
- Local Flood Maps & Sound Installation: A presentation of local flood maps provided insights into the scientific aspects of flooding in the area. A sound installation set the tone for the evening, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and creativity.
- Graphic Harvesting: An artist captured the key moments, ideas, and energy of the gathering through live graphic recording, bringing the meeting to life visually.
