Staff from the Blue & Green Network were in attendance at the recent Moby Dick festival in Youghal. In great weather, right by the sea, the Blue & Green stand got plenty of attention, and information on a range of environmental issues were available. The atmosphere was mighty; plenty of people came along to chat, hear more about the Network and hear about the Pathways: Community Climate Resilience project funded through Creative Ireland.
The interest in what the Network does is growing – a new member came on board at the event, along with a new Community Garden member.
There was even a bird rescue on the day! Two Spanish visitors found a dehydrated bullfinch on the road and brought it to the stand, where some water and a rest in a dark box brought it back to full health.
If you see a bird looking like it can’t move it may well be dehydrated – some water will work wonders. And on that – don’t forget to leave water in your garden for the birds there!
The Network thanks the Moby Dick team for their generous support on the day – and looking forward to next year!
